About This Game The flute nose dynasty has been watching over Asposia for centuries on end. In secret, they fill the roly-poly world with light and life. Emil, a trader for odds and ends, has led all the Asposians astray, making them believe that the dynasty is in cahoots with dark forces. Seriously, who knows what this weird family is doing day in, day out? The only one who could stop evil Emil is the heir to the flute nose throne: Robert. He has been petrified for three years, though. With a huge dose of enthusiasm, but little to no idea what he’s actually doing, he embarks on an adventure to find the legendary last wind monk. Of course, he has some great company: Peck, as loyal as he is flightless, and Laura, a rebel who certainly does fly, but only off the handle and who is Robert’s love with a capital L, by the way. A final ray of hope is provided by the mysterious Mama Dola, who seems to know more about Robert’s destiny than Robert himself…FeaturesExperience the fun and moving sequel to “The Inner World” (you don’t need to know the first part!). The Last Wind Monk is nothing short of awesome! It keeps a similar vibe and wit as its predecessor. Tons of fun puzzles, dialogue that makes you laugh, badass music, and fluffy adorable Tumble Mice. What is not to love? 10\/10. The Last Wind Monk is exactly what it says on the tin. This is a proper German adventure game; a worthy follow-up to the first Inner World. I don't find the characters very likable or much understand their interpersonal relationships, but the overall story is cute and the pacing is perfect. The art is gorgeous. The puzzles are just right. Even if you get stuck there is an excellent per-puzzle hint system that avoids you having to try skim a walkthrough and spoil other puzzles in the process. I played it in German so can't comment on the English dubbing, but the German is fine and funny and never grating. Overall a very solid adventure.. As a fan of the previous "The Inner World" game, I instantly bought this game when I saw it came out. (Especially because it was on sale)The game is very cute, fun to play, and has better art-style than the previous game.In my opinion, the story is rather lacking, and doesn't come to par with the previous game's.. Incredibly inventive. Extremely funny dialogue. A serious, even grim story underneath. Wonderful graphics. Sometimes hard to solve, but you are having too much fun to grumble. When will we seen The Inner World 3?. Very fun game that gets almost everything right. The graphics, interface, sound\/music are all great. The story is interesting and the humour works well. The only disappointment is that the solutions to the puzzles in the second half of the game were at times obscure. I ended up using the in game hints at times, which I hate doing. At times, reading the solutions to puzzles didn't make the logic of the puzzle clear. Doesn't spoil the game but with better puzzles the game would be a classic.. It's a good adventure game and follow-up to the first game. Not a lot of quality point and clicks around these days, so fans of the genre should definitely buy this.It did feel a bit short, with the each of the 6 chapters being set in a fairly small location and the story feeling quite rushed along, You initially get the ability to switch between different characters, and at one point can switch between 3, which hints at a bigger game to come, but this never materializes, and for the last two chapters you're then limited to a single character. At one point one of the main characters goes off on her own quest, so you assume there will be a chapter devoted to that, but she just reappears as a non-playable character in the final.Steam tells me I played it for 9 hours, so I got my money's worth and I had a good time with it, but would have definitely appreciated it being longer.. I felt like this was a solid followup to the previous game, but that it didn't do anything particularly new in it. It was fun to see the old characters again, and they were still engaging, but they were the same sort of engaging they were the last time. The puzzles were switched up a little bit in places where you could control more than one character, but not a lot was done with that. The upshot is that if you liked the last game and want more, this has it.. I don't understand some of the negative reviews this game has gotten. What I disliked: the premise of the gameI find the premise of the game lacking in that I just couldn't find the nemesis's motivations and degree of stupidity/denial believable anymore. It feels like somewhat of a lesser retelling of the first story: Guy hates flute noses for reason X and opresses them, heroes have to defeat him for the good of flute noses and all the people of the Inner World. Also the fact that we begin our adventure with our hero just becoming unfrozen in the forest where he was trapped for the entirety of the time that has passed since the end of the last game. Mighty convenient!! I feel they could have done better here. Maybe expressing a criticism of fascism is supposed to reflect some of the current political debates that are woven into contemporary international political discourse, but in that case I find basically using a child-friendly holocaust to be a cheap shot. I'm not offended, I just feel like again, they could have done better here. Not just the adults but the children who play this game would not have been overwhelmed by, but would have benefitted from a more subtle premise here. It doesn't need to be so on-the-nose.What I liked: the gameplayA lot of this we already know from the first game. I found the artwork, the voice acting (in German especially) and the soundtrack very enjoyable. The world concept, with its unique geography, physics, magic, lore and humanoid and non-humanoid inhabitants is really cohesive and well-conceived with a pleasant element of whimsy. In this game, I loved the puzzles and thought they were quite varied and clever. Figuring out the missing plant? Manipulating someone through subconscious cues? Assembling shapes in a meaningful way? Improvising a specific scent? Deciphering a code from abstruse visions? All this and more! (I intentionally phrased these vaguely enough to not really give anything away)The objects and object combinations needed to solve the puzzles were not too crazy by adventure game standards, I was always able to figure out what was needed to move forwards, though I did need help a few times in executing it exactly as necessitated by the game. No Monkey Island "monkey wrench" situations where you think "this object makes no sense, I would never have guessed this." I thought the hint system was well done. What I also really enjoyed was the interactive elements. I liked the use of some flute nose magic, though I think more of those puzzles wouldn't have hurt. You either play as the female or male protagonist, or you play as both to cooperate to solve puzzles. In addition, you sometimes get to use the pigeon in cooperation with the other characters. Finally their elongated pigeon friend really got the attention he/she deserves!TLDR: While I find the premise of the game to be very weak, the gameplay experience, specifically the excellent puzzles and the cooperation between the characters more than made that up for me, I really enjoyed it. (+heroic pigeon bonus). Love love love this game.
